Luminal is actually fiction story, aka not related to the experience of the lyricist or the band. Telling about the experience of a young man's heartbreak against his lover and childhood friend. The young man tried to try everything to distracting herself against all the negative thoughts, regardless of whether the distraction towards activities that are good or bad.
